Yoga History

In the vast mountains of the Himalayas, the art and philosophy of
yoga was born.  Intended as a tool of the kings, yoga combines
the movement of dance, the awareness of breath and knowledge
of the mind.  Regenerating the life force and creating harmony
between mind and body, yoga is the movement of life.

Yoga - Hatha & Raja

The two main divisions of yoga are "hatha" yoga (physical) and
"raja" yoga (mental):  Hatha yoga gives you an understanding of
the body and its ten functional systems.  The practice of Hatha
yoga will teach you how to support and sustain a high quality of
health throughout your years.  You will never need fear the aging
process.  With regular practice, students can find relief from
stress, anxiety and common physical ailments.  Continuous
practice will assist body development of strength, flexibility, and
stamina.  Raja yoga acquaints you with the levels of the mind, its
functions and how the mind affects the body's health and well
being.  Raja yoga brings beneficial thoughts to the mind through
active and passive meditation.  Raja yoga promotes a focused
and peaceful mind.
